On May 7, Matt Light officially announced his retirement from the NFL. After spending a eleven seasons in the NFL, one had to wonder how Light would spend his first year of retirement.

Now it seems as though Light will not actually be away from football for long. It looks as though Light is currently working on a deal to join a host of former players who now work for ESPN.

“I’m working with ESPN right now trying to finalize a contract,” Light said. “I want to see how that goes. Football has been a big part of my life – for the majority of my life – and the TV stuff would help me keep one foot in the door of that world and have some fun with it, too.”

If Light does join ESPN, he will be the third offensive lineman, joining Mark Schlereth (guard) and Damien Woody (center). It will be interesting to see what Light can bring to the table for ESPN.
