Candlestick Park will have one final game before the San Francisco 49ers move to Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara this upcoming season.  It’s been 21 years, but finally, Hall of Fame quarterback Joe Montana will take to the field one more time to face Hall of Fame quarterback Dan Marino in a flag football game on July 12th at Candlestick.

In January, 1985, Montana and the 49ers beat Marino and the Dolphins in Super Bowl XIX.  To accompany Montana will be fellow teammates Jerry Rice, Dwight Clark, and Roger Craig.  Montana has been hinting of one final game at historic Candlestick Park in recent months, and now the stage is set.

Also making a comeback, as previously reported, will be Paul McCartney, who announced on his website that he’ll play the final concert at Candlestick in August.  The Beatles had played their final concert there back in 1966.
