With the NFL draft only a few hours away, thirty-two college prospects will find out where they will be spending the next four to five years in the NFL. Today, marks the end of a long journey for prospects that starts at the end of the college season in early January and ends nearly five months later at the draft. During that time, some prospects attend the Senior Bowl, the Combine, Pro-Day workouts, private workouts and visits with teams all around the nation.

If that sounds a bit tiring, according to LSU wide receiver Odell Beckham, it can be a bit crazy and some prospects end up feeling like a piece of meat.

“[These teams] are investing so much in you that they want to make sure everything’s right.

“At some point in time, and I talk to other [draft prospects], and they feel like a piece of meat, to an extent. You’re getting poked and prodded at and pulled on. It’s not easy all the time. I flew around, one week, five days in a row. It’s just hard for you to be able to get your workouts in. The biggest part is just being able to stay healthy and stay active throughout the whole process.”

Beckham, who will likely be drafted during the first round of the NFL Draft tonight, will finally be able to end his country-wide tour and begin focusing on his workouts.
