Oklahoma WR Dorial Green-Beckham out for year
NORMAN, OK—Sorry Sooner fans; you’re going to have to wait another year to see this potential superstar take the field. Junior transfer wide receiver, Dorial Green-Beckham, will not be eligible to play for Oklahoma this season.
The school announced Friday that the waiver request entered on behalf of the phenom wide receiver, asking to make him eligible to play immediately, was denied by the NCAA.
Check out this highlight reel of Green-Beckham’s 2013 season with Missouri:
Green-Beckham led Missouri with 59 receptions for 883 yards and 12 touchdowns in 2013. However, legal issues overshadowed his potentially illustrious career at Mizzou.
During his time in Columbia, Mo., Green-Beckham was arrested twice on charges related to marijuana possession. Last April he was formally kicked off the team after police said he forced his way into an apartment and pushed a woman down the stairs.
Dorial Green-Beckham joined the (#4 preseason ranked) Sooners in July, and he will be available to play in 2015. The sky is the limit for this freak athlete if he stays out of trouble.
