Osi Umenyiora: “There’s no question we’re the best team in football”

The New York Giants look to turn things up and get themselves into the postseason for a chance to defend their Championship from a year ago. They’ve had some ups and downs, but look to be strong headed into the playoffs, and according to defensive end Osi Umenyiora, they are the best team in football.

“When the Giants are playing our best, there’s no question we’re the best team in football,” Umenyiora said via PFT. “We’ve just been inconsistent. So if we can play the way we’re capable of playing – the way we played against San Francisco, the way we played against Green Bay, the way we played against the Saints for the majority of the game – I don’t think there’s a team that’s better than us at all.”

It’s hard to argue his take, seeing as how the Giants dominated in last year’s playoffs, and they’ve looked awfully good playing the upper echelon of teams this season.

The Giants round out the season with the Falcons, Ravens and Eagles, looking to storm into the tournament as they did last season.

There will be some tough competition in the playoffs, but the  Giants have shown they can compete with anybody, any time, and this year is no different.

  • payton, great quaterback, SUPERBOWL? YEA!

  • Brick-hand Sanders from the Steelers? Is Manning a receivers coach now? Manning was on his game. Weren’t the Chargers without their starting corners? Still played great. Broncos defense stuffing the Chargers running game was impressive. That 30 yarder floated in there nice. Is it me or does Peyton’s passes look like a 30 yard bomb? That crap won’t work in the playoffs when Ravens defenders are used to practicing against Flacco who throws 70-yarders.
