Patrick Peterson Won’t Rule Out Holdout
Arizona Cardinals cornerback Patrick Peterson is ready for a new deal after establishing himself as one of the best cornerbacks in the game in 2013. That is not news, but what may be is the fact that the All-Pro corner refused to rule out a potential holdout if he does not get his desired contract.
“I can’t speak on that right now,” Peterson said when asked whether a holdout is out of the question. “Me and my agent, we haven’t talked about some of those possibilities. But hopefully we can get something done. If something were to happen, we restructure my deal or anything like that, we’ll have to wait and see what happens.”
A Patrick Peterson-less Cardinals would be much less dangerous indeed, and his agent has proven he is willing to use holdouts as a negotiating tactic when his client Chris Johnson held out for a new deal in 2011. This is a situation Cards fans may want to monitor, as it could get ugly if they do not pay the man.
