Probation And Anger Management For Chad Johnson
Chad Johnson, former NFL wide receiver, pleaded no contest to a domestic charge involving his now ex-wife, reality television star Evelyn Lozada. Johnson worked out a plea deal with prosecutors to avoid jail time, and will instead serve one year under probation, anger management counseling, and will also have to pay Lozada an unspecified amount of restitution.
The 6-time pro bowler formerly known as Chad Ochocinco was arrested in August. Lozada claims Johnson head butted her during an argument. She filed for divorce shortly after, which was finalized earlier this week. They had only been married since July.
Johnson was cut in pre-season by the Miami Dolphins following the incident, and is not currently on any NFL roster. In tweets with ESPN analyst Skip Bayless, Johnson tweets that he needs to take this year to work on himself to sort out his issues and rebuild. Johnson is a hard worker and has the drive to pull himself out of this, however, there’s always some sort of controversy with him. This is the first time Johnson has ever been in legal trouble in his entire career. Is this the last we’ll see of Chad? Only time will tell.
