Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III and Adidas created an advertisement that shows Griffin III training with the tagline “All in for week one”. Since then, all in for week one has taken off and given Redskins fans hope that the quarterback will be ready by week one.

Despite the optimism, with about three and a half months until week one, Griffin may not actually be ready by the start of the season.

Today, Washington Redskins general manager Bruce Allen reaffirmed that while providing a tour of the team’s newly built training camp.

“It’s great to hear the building is on schedule, ahead of schedule, and I’ve heard all those same phrases for our quarterback,” Allen said, via Mark Maske of theWashington Post. “It’s too early to tell right now. He is doing everything that the doctors want him to do. He’s a great worker. I think that’s why there’s so much optimism that he’ll be ready at the beginning.

“But it’s really too premature to speculate on where his medical condition is until we give him a physical when training camp starts July 25.”

Allen added that while Griffin had surgery in January he has been doing drills with other players, hoping to get ready for week one. When asked what Griffin would be doing during the team’s OTA’s, he told reporters that they would have to show up to find out.

“You’ll get to see when you all come out there on Thursday,” Allen said. “He’s been doing a lot of drill work on his own with the other injured players. He has to just follow the doctors’ and the trainers’ advice on a daily basis.”
