Reggie Bush upset he got caught Thursday night
During Thursday night’s preseason game, Detroit Lions running back Reggie Bush caught a short pass and turned it into a big gain. Even with a short pass, Bush turned the play into a 67-yard gain. Despite the 67-yard gain, Bush is upset he didn’t gain more yards.
“I was pretty upset that I got caught,” Bush said, via ESPN.com.
After breaking out for 67-yards, Bush was caught by New England Patriots corner back Kyle Arrington at the 13-yard line. This led some to speculate that Bush is not nearly as fast as he used to be when he first joined the league.
Despite being caught, Bush still ended the night with 104 totals yards and he credits his offensive line for helping him break 100 yards.
“The offensive line did a great job getting out there hustling and getting some blocks for me then springing me loose,” Bush said. “I was kind of waiting on the blocks down the field and Pettigrew was in front of me, Edwards was also in front of me. They were blocking so I was kind of slow playing and letting them make their blocks and I should’ve just took off and just ran. Nevertheless, I thought it was a good play and it gave us a lot of momentum early on.”
While Bush only had 1 yard on 6 attempts, he did have 103 yards on 5 receptions. If he is going to be a play maker in Detroit this year, it will be because of his ability to catch out of the back field.
