The San Francisco 49ers breathed a gigantic sigh of relief this morning when tight end Vernon Davis decided to join his teammates at training camp.  However, there is still one huge piece missing from camp, that is guard Alex Boone.  Who, according to NFL Insider Ian Rapoport, will begin holding out for a new contract from the 49ers.

This could cause big problems for San Francisco who also has Vernon Davis and Michael Crabtree looking for new contracts.  They will not be able to afford all three of these key players but it will be hard not to give Alex Boone his contract with him not missing a regular season game in the past three seasons.  Rapoport has also reported that the 49ers would not be negotiating with players who did not show up to camp, which might be what made Davis show up today.  It looks like we are heading towards a stalemate with the season just a little over six weeks away.
