It could be time to add another interesting possibility to the list of places Andy Reid could go to if, or when, he is fired as Eagles head coach.
The biggest name in the Reid prognostications has been San Diego, where Norv Turner is on an even hotter seat than Reid. Reid is a native of the Southern California area and would surely welcome the opportunity to coach a team in that area. But another team that has come up is the Eagles’ NFC East rival, the Dallas Cowboys. Mark Eckel of the Times of Trenton reports that a source close to Reid says that the current Eagles coach is thinking long and hard about the possibility of coaching the Cowboys.
“I know a lot of people think Andy is going to San Diego next year, and I can see that happening,” the source said. “But I keep hearing Dallas. I think he can end up with the Cowboys. As a matter of fact, I think he will end up with the Cowboys, if Jason is fired.”
Of course, this theory not only hinges on the assumption that Reid is fired in Philadelphia, but also that Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett is fired as well. Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is a big fan of Garrett’s, but like Turner, Garrett has continually underachieved with talented teams. It’s safe to say that there is a lot of heat turning up in the head coaching world these days, and this offseason could provide a huge shake-up with many high-profile teams looking for new coaches.
