REPORT: Kirk Cousins open to being traded
Washington Redskins back up quarterback Kirk Cousins has been playing behind his counterpart Robert Griffin III since he came into the league and according to Redskins new head coach Jay Gruden that won’t change. But Cousins is determined to be a starter even if it’s not with the Redskins.
ESPN reported Sunday that Cousins has had discussions with the Redskins about his desire to start and that he’s open to being traded.
One possible destination is the Cleveland Browns as they plan to hire Kyle Shanahan as their offensive coordinator in the near future. Shanahan and Cousins spent the last two seasons working together in Washington and are very familiar with each other.
Cousins has started four games and has appeared in eight overall during his two-year career, passing for 1,320 yards and eight touchdowns with 10 interceptions.
