REPORT: Penn State offers Franklin head coach position

  • Luke Willis

Two sources have came out saying that Penn State has offered James Franklin a head coaching position. Both sources, who spoke on conditions of anonymity to The Times-Tribune because no official announcement had been made, said Franklin is expected to either accept or reject the job today.

The Vanderbilt coach has done wonders for the Commodores bringing them from the bottom to the SEC into relevance. He’s been interviewed by a number of colleges and NFL teams and definitely has a plethora of options to choose from.

Penn State has been talking to a number of coaches from Franklin to Tennessee Titans former coach Mike Munchak. Munchak looks like he’s probably staying in the NFL as he had a great interview with the Lions so Franklin might be sitting in a good spot to snatch the job.
