Report: Texans send LB DeMeco Ryans to Eagles
Per a report from John McClain of the Houston Chronicle, the Texans have executed a trade with the Philadelphia Eagles.
The Eagles send a fourth round pick in the 2013 draft for LB DeMeco Ryans. The teams will also swap third round picks in this years draft. Eagles will draft 26th and Texans will draft 15th in the third round.
Ryan is a two time Pro Bowl linebacker who has been in the league since 2006 as a second round pick. This fills a void for the Eagles defense that lacked linebacker production last year. It’s a good trade for both teams as the Texans get to add depth to the roster, and the Eagles get a guy they need to fill the holes of the defense. Ryans is no shutdown corner, but he’s decent in coverage and they’ll definitly benefit from the trade. I expect the Eagles to continue to focus on linebackers, maybe in the draft and still in Free Agency where a few good names still remain.
