Pittsford, N.Y. -.  It was a picture perfect night at St. John Fisher in the small suburb of Pittsford just outside of Rochester, N.Y. and there were over 4,000 fans in the seats to watch the Buffalo Bills get ready for the new season.  Unfortunately, according to Joe Buscaglia from WGR 550 in Buffalo, there were three players that left the field Friday night during the Bills fifth training camp practice.

Fred Jackson is the most notable name that headed to the locker room early with what is being called a “lower leg” injury, there have been no further details given at this point.  At 33 years old, Jackson is the oldest running back in the league but you wouldn’t notice by watching him play.  Last year he totaled 890 rushing yards with 9 touchdowns while averaging 4.3 yards per carry, while picking up the slack for injured CJ Spiller.

The other two players that were injured last night are tight end Tony Moeaki and rookie safety Kenny Ladler.  Both, Moeaki and Ladler, left the practice field with hamstring injuries. Hopefully we will find out soon the severity of each injury from the head coach of the Buffalo Bills, Doug Marrone.  Each of them are having good camps from media reports and have good chances of making the final 53 man roster if they can come back fully healthy to compete at a high level.

The Buffalo Bills have already lost one of their key starters on defense with Kiko Alonso tearing his ACL.  They cannot afford to lose any more vital players or there will be even more pressure placed upon their young quarterback, EJ Manuel.  Let’s hope the rest of the team can stay healthy throughout the rest of training camp and the offseason.
