Saints list paralyzed safety Devon Walker in team media guide

  • Brett

On the day safety Devon Walker graduated from Tulane University, I am sure he was expecting to be preparing himself for the NFL draft or at least a post-draft workouts for a few teams. Instead, on September 8, 2012, Walker was paralyzed after a helmet-to-helmet hit left him with fractured vertebrae.

Although Walker may never have had a chance to walk on the field for an NFL team, he did have the chance to sign with an NFL team. This off-season, the New Orleans Saints signed Walker following his graduation from Tulane University.

While that gesture could have been enough, the Saints also decided to add Devon Walker to their 2014 team media guide.

Saints quarterback Ryan Griffin, who played with Walker at Tulane, Tweeted out this picture today:

It is great to see the New Orleans Saints doing something special for a local college kid who’s life was forever changed by football.

  • payton, great quaterback, SUPERBOWL? YEA!

  • Brick-hand Sanders from the Steelers? Is Manning a receivers coach now? Manning was on his game. Weren’t the Chargers without their starting corners? Still played great. Broncos defense stuffing the Chargers running game was impressive. That 30 yarder floated in there nice. Is it me or does Peyton’s passes look like a 30 yard bomb? That crap won’t work in the playoffs when Ravens defenders are used to practicing against Flacco who throws 70-yarders.
