The Seattle Seahawks have signed wide receiver Chris Matthews, former receiver of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the Canadian Football League, to a reserve-futures contract.

The 24-year-old won the CFL’s Most Outstanding Rookie award in 2012. He caught 81 passes for 1,192 yards and seven TDs.

He missed the majority of 2013 due to injuries, but still finished with 138 yards and a touchdown.

Matthews is a former Kentucky Wildcat, where he caught 93 passes for 1,279 yards and twelve touchdowns in two seasons after transferring from junior college. The 6’5″, 225-pound receiver has had one stint in the NFL with the Cleveland Browns.
