Sean Weatherspoon Will Miss Entire 2014 Season
According to Jay Adams, from atlantafalcons.com, Sean Weatherspoon suffered a ruptured Achilles tendon during Tuesday’s OTA. He will miss the entire 2014 season and this happened while running with the medical staff. Weatherspoon racked up a total of 38 combined tackles while only playing in 7 games for the Atlanta Falcons in 2013, he was sidelined with a knee ailment that held him out of most of the season. Sean has been very productive over his first four years in the league, playing as the Falcons weak-side linebacker.
Head Coach Mike Smith had this to say about Sean Weatherspoon’s injury,
During Sean’s run today with our medical staff, he suffered an injury. We sent Sean to the doctor for some additional testing and evaluation and unfortunately the results showed that he ruptured his Achilles tendon. Sean had been working extremely hard to get back on the field, but regrettably he will miss the entire 2014 season. He will have a procedure done in the near future and we expect him to make a full recovery.
The Atlanta Falcons dealt with a plethora of injuries last season so lets hope that it is not the same case this year. They finished with a measly 4-12 record after advancing all the way to the NFL Championship game in 2012. Hopefully they can get back to that championship form they had before.
