Tennessee QB Riley Ferguson expected to leave team
The Tennessee Volunteers are expecting to lose one of their signal callers before the 2014 season. Redshirt Freshman quarterback Riley Ferguson isn’t expected to return to the team, Butch Jones said today.
“As of right now, based on our recent conversations, we do not anticipate that he will be a member of our football family moving forward,” Jones said.
This will leave the Vols with three candidates for the starting job in Justin Worley (SR), Josh Dobbs (SO) and Nathan Peterman (SO). Even though Ferguson was mostly looked at as a wildcard for the starting job in 2014, none of the before mentioned quarterbacks has solidified themselves as the starter.
