Terrell Suggs’ injury happened…playing basketball?

Initial reports of Baltimore Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs’ injury concluded he tore his achilles during conditioning drills. However, sources now state that it happened playing basketball April 29th during a three-day tournament in Maricopa, AZ.

Basketball tournament staff member Herman Hoffman commented:

“He got hurt Sunday prior to the (basketball tournament) championship game…more than likely it was (the ¬†injury). My staff saw the whole incident. It was the condition you’d describe for a torn Achilles. He had no movement, no step, and it swelled up right away.”

Suggs responded to the allegations in a statement released by his agent, Joel Segal:

“Simply not true. I hurt myself doing my conditioning test.”

The Ravens have not commented about the situation, but it’s safe to say this news will be a hot topic when the team begins mini-camp this Wednesday.
