The Walking Dead On AMC Zombifies Hines

So far, it appears retired Steeler Hines Ward is having a successful career off the field.  Ward kept busy this past NFL season as a studio analyst for NBC’s “Football Night in America.”  He also has appeared on the silver screen in a brief cameo in the blockbuster hit “The Dark Knight Rises” where he nearly dies during a kick return for 6.

In his latest cameo, Ward doesn’t escape death, but rather embraces it.  AMC’s hit television series “The Walking Dead” has made Hines a member of the undead.  Hines comments that the makeup was so good that he scared himself.

“Just being in makeup preparing me for my role was cool.  I actually scared myself when I looked in the mirror for the first time after,” Ward told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

I wonder if he’ll be wearing that classic Hines Ward smirk/grin as a zombie.  Hopefully Rick or Darryl have what it takes to kill off a Pittsburgh legend, as Ward’s opponents on the field had a tough time stopping his relentless attacks.

Check out Hines avoiding being taken by the collapsing field above.
