For years, Tom Moore and Peyton Manning picked apart the Tennessee Titans. Now, Manning is in Denver, and Moore is retired. He will remain retired, but according to Terry McCormick of the National Football Post, Moore has been brought in as an offensive consultant for the Titans, days after firing offensive coordinator Chris Palmer.

Moore has been in the NFL for several decades, entering the league as a receivers coach in 1977 for the Pittsburgh Steelers. His greatest success was with the Colts and the molding of Future Hall of Fame QB Peyton Manning. Paired with Manning, Moore’s offensive philosophies helped win a Super Bowl, had a record of 117-59 and set multiple NFL records.

His most recent work was in 2011 with the New York Jets, where he also served as a consultant and did all his work from home.

Moore was recruited by Titans head coach Mike Munchak when he was hired, but wanted to remain retired and out of coaching.

He spent time at Thursday’s practice with the team, primarily with QB Jake Locker and Titans receivers as they ran timing routes. This could turn out to be a great move for the Titans.
