Tennessee Titans fans can be forgiven for panicking after watching their starting quarterback Jake Locker get carted off the field with a right hip injury on Sunday. Locker took a big hit from Jets defensive lineman Mohammed Wilkerson in the third quarter during a 38-13 win for the Titans. After undergoing X-rays in the locker room he was transferred to hospital by ambulance staying there overnight.

Locker was having arguably the best game of his career before sustaining the devastating injury. Completing 18/24 passes for 149 yards and 3 touchdowns. This was the first 3 touchdown game of his career and he had accrued a 130.0 passer rating.

Titans nation can breathe a sigh of relief as backroom staff say Locker won’t miss the entire season, however he is expected to be out for around a month. A source close to the team has said he may be placed on the IR designated to return list which means he has to miss 6 weeks of practice. If this was to happen we probably wouldn’t see Locker till around week 13.

Either scenario is a really big deal for the 3-1 Titans who have looked surprisingly good so far this season. They have a fairly seasoned backup in Ryan Fitzpatrick who held down the starting job in Buffalo for a few years but he obviously isn’t their man. They also have an exciting run game to lean on with “CJ2K”, running back Chris Johnson waiting in the wings to carry any extra workload that might be heading his way.

Only time will tell if the Titans can pick themselves up from this setback and prove they aren’t a one man team.
