Titus Young Tweets: “Y’all Can Go Get on Someone Else’s Bandwagon!”
The Detroit Lions are struggling this season; with a 4-5 record they currently sit in the cellar of the brutal NFC North. All Pro wide receiver Calvin Johnson has only two touchdowns this year after a season in which he scored 16. Quarterback Matthew Stafford, after throwing 41 touchdowns in 2011, has only 11 so far this year. Lions fans, obviously disappointed after a year in which their team appeared to be a team on the rise, have let the team know in various ways how they feel, whether it’s booing at home games or commenting on a social media outlet like Facebook or Twitter. For Lions wide receiver Titus Young, he isn’t going to just stand aside while fans bash the Lions. Earlier today, he let Lions fans know what he thinks of those criticizing the team:
Are fans really jumping off the Lions bandwagon? This season there certainly isn’t one to jump off, but for those Lions fans who are loyal year-in and year-out, they are well within their right to criticize their team. It’s not like a fan doesn’t want their team to succeed, but when their team falls short of expectations, fans have every right to boo, criticize, or point out bad play. It doesn’t mean they aren’t fans anymore; it just means they care. If your fans stop caring enough to point out your bad play, Titus, then they really have jumped off your bandwagon!
