Tony Romo will have more power in Dallas
The interesting coaching structure that is the Dallas Cowboys might have just gotten more interesting.
Quarterback Tony Romo will be more involved and have a bigger say in the offense according to Owner Jerry Jones.
“Romo will have more power under Linehan(New Offensive Coordinator),” said Jones to the Forth Worth Star- Telegram.
It seems that with every report that comes out of Cowboys camp, Head Coach Jason Garrett will have less and less say on what goes on in everyday operations.
NFL.com’s Gregg Rosenthal is reporting that coordinator Scott Linehan will have the ultimate say on the offensive side of the ball while Garrett will turn his focus more towards defense and special teams.
Every year, Garrett’s role seems to change and soon no one will know if he’s even the head coach or not.
“The plan for him is to be coach of the Dallas Cowboys long-term, certainly beyond this year,” Jones said to the San Antonio Express-News.
That’s great and all, but Jerry Jones always changes his mind.
If the Cowboys do poorly this season, don’t expect Garrett or the rest of the staff to be with Dallas in 2015.
