During tonight’s Hall of Fame induction, Buffalo Bills wide receiver Andre Reed gave an emotionally charged speech that left many in the crowd in tears. Reed’s NFL success was due in part to the play of quarterback Jim Kelly. While the duo played together, they connected for 663 passes. With Kelly spending his last fourteen months battling cancer, Reed spoke highly of his former quarterback, even saying Kelly taught him never to quit.

“You taught us not to quit,” Reed said, referring to Kelly. “You have endured a lot in your life. The loss of your son, and most recently your battle with cancer. You’re an inspiration to all you touch.”

Reed also reiterated that he believes the Buffalo Bills will stay in Buffalo after speculation began as to whether or not they would move with the sale of the team imminent.

By the end of his speech, Reed had one more favor to ask of his former quarterback, throw him one more pass to help him enter the Hall of Fame the right way.
