WATCH: Roy High Wins on last second Hail Mary
Everyone loves a good Hail Mary in football, whether it’s perfectly executed or there’s a few lucky bounces, if it works it’s one of the most exciting plays in all of football.
The Roy High Royals in Roy, Utah pulled off a pretty nice one Friday night against their rival Fremont Silver Wolves on the final play of the game, defeating them on a last second heave to win 13-12.
QB Tyler Skidmore lined up in the shotgun at the 44 yard line, dropped back and threw a prayer down the field where it bounced off a few defenders and into the hands of WR Justin Weaver for the score.
The touchdown set the Royals up for their third win of the season for an undefeated record, and their second straight game of winning on the last play of the game.

If Roy High rings a bell for you, it’s the High School that legendary Bears QB Jim McMahon attended before going on to BYU and eventually the NFL. The Royals retired his number two seasons ago and he visits here a few times a year.
UPDATE: Following this story, a resident of Roy contacted us and informed us of a sad twist. Baby Tee Eteuati, #15 of the Royals lost his mother on Thursday night. This was more than a football game to the guys in gold, but rather a coming together of a team to persevere and pull through until the final whistle. It was more than a Hail Mary to stay undefeated.
The mother left behind her love of the game to her three boys, whom all showed up for their teams following their loss, ranging from High School to Pee Wee leagues with heavy hearts.
Accounts have been set up at any America First or Goldenwest Credit Unions in the name of the Eteuati family, and any donations to help with services would be of much help. You can reach both Credit Unions starting Monday Morning. America First can be reached at (801) 627-0900, and Goldenwest at (801) 621-4550.
