For the second time since 2011, Philadelphia Eagles offensive lineman Jason Peters is in the news for being arrested. In 2011 Peters was arrested for disturbing the peace. In 2013 he decided to step it up a notch: he was arrested in Louisiana for drag racing and fleeing police.
Via Pro Football Talk:
The arresting officer wrote in his report that he observed two cars stopped next to each other at a red light take off at a high rate of speed when the light turned green, as if they were drag racing. The officer went to pull over both cars, and while one driver stopped immediately, the other driver (Peters) fled. The officer says Peters went more than 100 miles an hour during the chase, although he did eventually stop.
Peters missed all of last season because of a torn achilles. We will provide updates on the outcome of his arrest as they are made available.
