WATCH: Jason Kidd purposely spills drink on the court to delay the end of the game 99

First year head coach Jason Kidd pulled off a savvy move that may result in a fine when the NBA reviews the footage. Jodie Meeks was at the line up two points with less than a minute to go in regulation and had to wait to shoot his final free throw. This was because coach Kidd told his point guard Tyshawn Taylor to purposely hit him so that he could spill his drink onto the court. This led to a delay and Kidd a chance to meet with his team without having to use a timeout. The tactic didn’t work however as Meeks nailed the free throw to put the Lakers up three and ultimately won the game after Paul Pierce’s game tying three was off the mark.

In this Vine, you can read Kidd’s lips say “Bump me.”
