The Cavaliers have plenty of possibilities for what they can do with their number one overall pick, and they seem to have explored all of their options. They have looked closely at Jabari Parker, Joel Embiid, Andrew Wiggins and even Dante Exum. Now they are linked to a possible trade with the Utah Jazz.
According to Pro Basketball Draft, the Cavaliers and Jazz have discussed trading picks and sending Derrick Favors to Cleveland. The Cavaliers would give the Jazz the first pick where they could then select Jabari Parker, and Cleveland would receive the fifth pick from Utah.
Hearing the Cavs and Jazz have discussed a swap of picks. Jazz would move up to take Parker and Cavs would likely get Favors and 5.

The trade seems too good to be true for Cleveland, and I’m not sure I buy it unless there are other pieces who haven’t been revealed (which is entirely possible.) The trade would give Cleveland a starting linup of Kyrie Irving, Dion Waiters, Noah Vonleh or Aaron Gordon, Tristan Thompson and Derrick Favors.
I’m assuming if the Jazz were going to accept the trade they would need a player in return such as Dion Waiters or Tristan Thompson before they were willing to part ways with Favors. Either way, Cleveland is certainly keeping everyone guessing about what they will do next Thursday night.
