The NBA Draft is Thursday (June 26th) and the news about players in the draft keeps piling up by the passing hour. The latest out of draft land is that of potential lottery pick and Croatian forward, Dario Saric. The big man has been linked to numerous teams, from the top ten, all the way into the later parts of the first round.
News broke today, from Chad Ford of ESPN, stating that Saric has agreed in principal to terms with Turkish powerhouse Anadolu Efes. It’s a reported three-year deal, and this will leave a lot of teams scrambling to re-adjust their picks based around this move.
Joel Embiid recently broke a bone in his foot, and now Saric has opted to stay in Europe, leaving this NBA Draft a little more battered by the day.
Saric is a SF/PF, with the ability to shoot the basketball, as well as create his own shot, had plenty of potential suitors. Think of a Hedo Turkoglu type player. Somebody who would have certainly had much interest on draft night. Saric had some impressive numbers this year, averaging 19.3 points, 9.3 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game for Cibona in the Adriatic League. His absence will hurt this draft a bit.
