On the heels of Derek Jeter’s announcement that he will retire after the 2014 season, ticket prices for his final games have skyrocketed in just an hour, according to cbs.com.
Just an hour after the Yankee captain’s announcement, tickets on StubHub.com for the Yankee Stadium finale, Sept. 25 against the Baltimore Orioles, were listed as high as $11,004.99.
Tickets for the Sept. 28 season finale, against the rival Red Sox at Boston’s Fenway Park (go figure) skyrocketed to $11,003.10 as of Wednesday afternoon. It will be the final regular-season game of Jeter’s historic career.
So if you have a spare $11 grand burning a hole in your pocket, go see a baseball game. Or not. Your choice.
