Ike Davis happy to be away from the early morning advice of Mets fans
The New York Mets traded Ike Davis to the Pittsburgh Pirates just 12 games into the 2014 season. Davis came out of the gate slow this season after batting just .205 last season. Davis welcomed the change of scenery, and the trade to Pittsburgh has rejuvenated his career, as he’s batting .303 with 16 RBI’s in his 32 games as a Pirate.
Davis returns to Citi Field today for a three-game series against his old team, and Davis gave a hilarious answer when New York Post columnist Kevin Kernan him what the best part about being a Pirate is.
Davis said: “Maybe going to get coffee and you don’t get hitting tips. I don’t have to go think about my stance at nine in the morning.”
