Jason Kidd stole his old shooting coach before their game Sunday afternoon
Jason Kidd has had an up and down season in his first year as a New York Knickerbocker. Early on, Kidd looked like he was going to be a real weapon for this Knicks team because of his leadership and his three-point stroke. Then, Father Time seemed to have caught up to the once seemingly ageless point guard. Well Kidd saw his old shooting coach, Bob Thate before the Knicks game against the Los Angeles Clippers on Sunday and asked for some pointers. One problem, Thate is the shooting coach for the Clippers!
“He helped me out a little bit, what I was doing wrong,” Kidd said. “I’ve known him for a long time, his family. I’m happy he’s working with the Clippers and Blake (Griffin). He just pointed out a couple of things, just trying to help you out.”
J-Kidd would finish 3-5 from three-point land against the Clippers. Kidd probably wishes he could take coach, Thate with him as the Knicks finish up a grueling six game west coast trip Monday night in Utah. Check out the clips of Kidd’s performance and Thate helping Kidd out during the pregame shoot around.
