College football sensation and Texas A&M stud QB Johnny Manziel, AKA Johnny Football, must be getting used to the limelight. After an insane freshman season of 47 total touchdowns and over 5,000 yards, Manziel has catapulted to the cusp of stardom after just one college season. His NFL stock will surely rise as well should he have another season like his 2012 campaign. He’s been to the Super Bowl and Mardi Gras. One place he can’t go? His classes on the Texas A&M campus. Apparently his presence causes too much of a stir and he gets mobbed in public. Hey Johnny, it comes with the territory.
From the Star Telegram via The Big Lead:
Manziel is focused on preparing for spring football drills, which open March 2, and an academic schedule that includes four online classes in sports management that do not require him to be on campus every day. Manziel, 20, said he switched to the all-online approach after his presence caused a stir in an English class when the spring semester began.
Hey, March 2nd is my 30th birthday. Be sure to send presents and cookies.
Back to business. With Manziel already a perennial superstar, there’s almost no way he comes back to A&M for his junior season. Many experts are saying the QB class in April’s draft isn’t exactly strong, so it will be interesting to see what teams hold out one more season in hopes of landing Johnny Football.
