Michael Jordan violates dress code at country club

Months after Michael Jordan created a buzz with his choice of golf outfit for the Ryder Cup, his airness is back at it again. MJ recently showed up to the high end La Gorce Country Club in Miami in a pair of cargo shorts. No big deal right? I mean normally some khaki get up would be acceptable when playing a casual round of golf. But when at a pompous Miami course, absolutely not.

Apparently cargo shorts violate the dress code of the establishment. Sources close to the “incident” said:

“Michael was wearing cargo pants on the course….he was given the chance to change but he didn’t want to… he won’t be invited back.”

Of course, Michael was given the option to go change on the 12th hole, and he declined. A rep for Jordan responded:

“Michael Jordan did wear cargo pants . . . He had been there many times before and had worn cargo pants previously, and had never been made aware that he was violating any dress code. This time, he was made aware of the violation on the 12th hole, and at that point . . . he did refuse to interrupt his game, and return to the clubhouse and change. We were not aware that he is not allowed to return to La Gorce. I guess it’s their loss — as MJ is a great golfer, and a great guest.”

I am personally annoyed that this is a big deal, and reminds me why I never took up golf. As Happy Gilmore once said:

“Golf requires goofy pants and a fat ass.” Looks like he wasn’t far off.
