MJD: “You can definitely make the Super Bowl with Matt Schaub.”
Running back Maurice Jones-Drew signed with the Oakland Raiders last week, choosing them over the two other finalists, the Pittsburgh Steelers and New England Patriots. While the fact that Oakland gave MJD a three-year, $7.5 million deal may have had something to do with it, Jones-Drew is fully confident in his new team and new quarterback:
MJD also grew up in the Oakland area and rooted for the Raiders as a kid, so combining those aspects with the money and the fact he thinks they can make a playoff run, and it’s clear why he chose to go there.
I still won’t go as far to say Oakland has better chance at the playoffs than Pittsburgh or New England, but a confident MJD is out to prove something this season, as is exiled quarterback Schaub.
