NBA says Dwight Howard should have been at the line instead of fouling out

The NBA made a statement about Dwight Howard’s sixth foul

The NBA issued a statement regarding Dwight Howard‘s pivotal sixth foul during the Houston Rockets overtime loss to the Portland Trail Blazers. According to the NBA, Dwight Howard, who was issued his sixth foul with the Rockets down one point, should have not received the foul. Joel Freeland, however, should have received the foul with 10.8 seconds left in overtime, which would have led to Howard shooting two free throws with the Rockets down one instead of Freeland shooting free throws. This could end up being a huge blunder as the Blazers now have seized home court advantage.
