Things just keep getting worse for the Orlando Magic. SF, Hedo Turkoglu is expected to have surgery to repair facial fractures and will miss at least three weeks, said Magic GM, Otis Smith.
Turkoglu wore a bandage on his face on Friday and told reporters that he might need surgery on his right cheekbone. The injury was sustained during the Magic’s Thursday night loss to the New York Knicks at home.
“I might have to have surgery — I don’t know. There’s some fractures,” Turkoglu said. “I didn’t think it would be this bad.”
Hedo did not make the trip with the Magic to Philadelphia for Saturday’s game.
Given the time-frame of his injury, Turkoglu will likely be available for the playoffs, but the Magic could slide even further down the eastern conference rankings by then.
The Magic are already struggling in the wake of the deteriorating relationship between Dwight Howard and Stan Van Gundy. Turk’s injury will only add to their growing list of problems.
