Los Angeles Lakers’ Executive VP of Business Operations Jeanie Buss joined Mark and Mychal today on ESPN LA Now, to talk about the events that have taken place since her father Dr. Jerry Buss passed away. Buss spoke about Dwight Howard and his decision to sign with the Houston Rockets, and also said she doesn’t think Phil Jackson has coached his last game.
Jeanie would talk more in-depth about Howard and his decision to leave the Lakers, and even said other ‘people’ from NBA teams have said it was for the better.

“It’s funny because I’ve had a few people come up to me and say, ‘you guys are better off without him’ and do you know who those people were? People from other NBA teams, because they thought we would be better without Dwight Howard. Of course, they don’t want us to have somebody with his kind of talent.”
“I was disappointed that Dwight chose to leave but he was certainly within his rights.
I don’t agree with his decision.”
“I really don’t think (Dwight) got the credit or the support you know, I was really shocked that right from the start of training camp he was going full speed even if he wasn’t 100 percent. And I really admire that because he did that with good faith because he didn’t have a contract. I mean if he had injured himself again, he took a big risk by maybe coming back too soon.”
Jeanie was then asked a question about Phil Jackson and his desire to coach again.
“Jeanie I always get asked this question and I’m curious to see what you think about it, ‘Do you think Phil has coached his last game?’
