The biggest story of the NBA off-season was the Los Angeles Lakers acquiring arguably the best center in the NBA, Dwight Howard. Pairing Howard with Kobe Bryant, Pau Gasol, and Steve Nash has the Lakers primed to make a run at the Finals this season.
However, early in the first quarter of Tuesday night’s season opener against the Dallas Mavericks, Howard got the ball in great position to hammer down one of his signature dunks. Instead of making the Staples Center erupt, there was a chorus of “oooooh’s” as Howard completely biffed the dunk. Luckily the Lakers got the board and found a wide open Steve Nash for his first bucket as a Laker, a silky three pointer that got the crowd going:
