NFL hits the Patriots and Tom Brady hard with suspension, fines and loss of draft picks
The NFL has come down hard on Tom Brady and the New England Patriots for their latest controversial scandal. After playing the Indianapolis Colts in the playoffs, “DeflateGate” has been mentioned ad nauseam with plenty of critics going after the Patriots because of their sketchy past.
Well, now the critics have gotten their wish. Tom Brady has been issued a four-game suspension for conduct detrimental to the integrity of the NFL. In addition, the Patriots have been fined $1 million and will lose their 2016 first-round draft pick and 2017 fourth-round pick.
The National Football League suspended New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady for four regular season games without pay “for conduct detrimental to the integrity of the NFL,” the league announced Monday afternoon.
The league also announced that the team—which won the Super Bowl earlier this year—would be fined $1 million and forced to forfeit its first-round pick in the 2016 draft and its fourth-round selection in the 2017 draft.
