Bears head coaching job narrowed to two candidates 59

The long and controversial search for a new Chicago Bears head coach is coming to an end.

According to David Haugh of the Chicago Tribune, the Bears have narrowed their search for a new head coach down to just two candidates: Marc Trestman of the Montreal Alouettes and Seahawks offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell.

The two candidates will be brought back by Chicago for another interview. The final process for the two will begin on Tuesday, when the two candidates will be brought to Halas Hall early in the day.

Bevell was cleared up to interview after the Seahawks were eliminated from the playoffs on Sunday. However, one man, we know, doesn’t want him to leave Seattle, and it’s the same man that has gave his name recognition this season: Russell Wilson. Trestman was rumored (by Jimmy Johnson) to have the job last week, but he laid the rumors to rest. Trestman, a coach int he Canadian Football League, has gained some notoriety with multiple NFL teams this time around, and he’ll get his chance at the Bears job on Tuesday.

UPDATE: Bears have added Colts offensive coordinator Bruce Arians onto their list of finalists, according to Sean Jensen of the Chicago Sun-Times. Arians will also be brought in for a second interview on Tuesday. Arians was expected to interview for the Eagles job on Tuesday, but apparently, plans have changed.
