Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is in London this week to promote American football, as the Steelers will square off against the Minnesota Vikings overseas during the 2013 season. When asked, he said is goal is to have the most Super Bowl rings of any Steelers quarterback in history. The beloved Terry Bradshaw has four, which mean Roethlisberger would have to win three more rings to pass him. Three more rings would actually give Big Ben the most rings of any quarterback in NFL history.
I want to pass Terry Bradshaw by getting more Super Bowl wins. That’s our expectations in Pittsburgh,” Roethlisberger said, via Steelers PR man Burt Lauten.
Roethlisberger also made clear that he wants to win all of those Super Bowls in Pittsburgh.
“There is no other franchise I would rather play for than the Pittsburgh Steelers,” he said.
At 31 years old, it’s a long shot for Roethlisberger to reach this monumental goal, especially with the team in a transition phase. But, the Steelers are one of the handful of teams that can never be counted out as contenders. Big Ben and the Steelers will begin their quest for a 7th Super Bowl when the NFL season kicks off September 8th.
