Great news for Clay Buchholz and the Boston Red Sox. MLB.com has announced that Buchholz has been released from the hospital and was in the Red Sox clubhouse Wednesday morning. He was hospitalized for intestinal bleeding and was later diagnosed with esophagitis, which is said to have caused the bleeding. He is expected to make a full recovery.
Buchholz hasn’t pitched since June 19 and is currently on the 15-day disabled list. He has an 8-2 record and a 5.53 ERA this season.
