Well, it’s official. Tebow-mania has hit it’s peak. The former Jets and Broncos quarterback now has the blessing and admiration of martial arts legend Chuck Norris.
Norris recently wrote an essay totaling over 1,400 words called “The Ultimate Clutch Player” where he discusses what makes Tim Tebow great. Not surprisingly, the essay is very well written and explains why the free-agent quarterback is a must-have in the NFL.
The essay focuses mostly on his miraculous season with the Broncos in which the team started out 1-4 with QB Kyle Orton starting and ended up making the playoffs with Tebow at the helm and even winning a playoff game against the highly favored Steelers. He also mentions Tebow’s lack of technical skills and explains why it isn’t a big deal.
“I’ve heard the so-called critics say Tebow has poor technical skills, but the truth is that Tim is a natural-born leader, an amazingly gifted football player, an inspiration to his team and the possessor of intense determination and strategy to bring any team to victory — no matter what the odds. One can improve technique, but leadership is innate. That is why I believe Tebow could be a superstar and legend in the NFL.”
He even said Tebow reminds him of himself (what bigger compliment can you even think of!?!?)
“Tebow is a player who rises to the occasion and delivers big in critical game moments,” wrote Norris. “He reminds me of myself when I used to compete in martial arts. I would spar with my black belts in class, and sometimes they would outscore me.
Norris even hand picked the team that should sign and be lead into the future by Tebow.
“So what team do I feel should give Tim the opportunity to excel as a quarterback and usher them to Super Bowl status?
My present pick would be the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Why? To put it simply, because Tim could help turn the mediocre team into a championship one. Tebow works miracles on the field, and his inclusion would embolden the spirit of the Jaguars among the team and fans.”
Norris obviously believes that Tebow’s career is just beginning and that he’d be a great addition to the Jacksonville Jaguars. He ends his essay by saying “Tim Tebow is a winner- plain and simple!”
So…Chuck Norris, worldwide martial arts icon, movie and television star, and all around badass says that Tim Tebow is the man. Does that change your opinion of him?
