Even watching Eagles games last season, any attentive fan could tell that speedy wideout DeSean Jackson was hot-dogging around, not going all out plays, and downright acting live a diva. Recently, Jackson came out and admitted that he was playing with a fear of being hurt, and was not giving 100% on the field:
“I let it get to me, even though I tried not to let it. I was trying to protect myself from getting hurt — now I’m just giving it all” said Jackson.
Well, good for Jackson. You’d think he’d give it all now that the Eagles rewarded him and his lackluster effort with a five year, $51 million deal. I personally am skeptical of players who admit they are scared of taking hits and let that affect whether or not they are giving 100% for the team. When he is trying, D-Jax is one of the most explosive playmakers in the league. Only time will tell if Philly ends up regretting ponying up that kind of cash for a guy who admits to not playing all out, all the time.
