Last night, Houston Texans defensive end Jadeveon Clowney laid a huge hit on Atlanta Falcons running back Antone Smith. Clowney was in the backfield just as Matt Ryan was able to hand off the ball to Smith. Clowney followed up his big hit on Smith with a sack of Ryan on the next play.
Following last night’s game, Smith spoke to 610 Sports in Houston and he’s not overly impressed with Clowney.
“Just a guy,” Smith said of Clowney. “I don’t see anything special. He’s just a guy. He’s a guy who plays defensive end. He plays pretty good. Made a good play.”
Smith also admitted that he didn’t see a lot more than the ground during the big hit by Clowney.
“I didn’t see anything,” he said. “The only thing I seen was me hitting the ground.”
While most defensive ends would have made a play like that, Clowney delivered a big hit on Smith. If Smith doesn’t think there was anything special about that hit last night, maybe he needs to have himself checked for a concussion.
