Devin Hester, arguably the best return man in NFL history, will now call Atlanta his home.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the agreement is for three years. This will add to Atlanta’s special teams game most definitely. Hester is one of those dynamic players that can be a huge factor in the passing game as well. Should the Falcons be plagued with injuries for a second year in a row, they’ll at least have a solid backup to rely on.
Hester, 31, holds the NFL record currently for kicks returned for a touchdown. Last year in Chicago, he led the league in kickoff return yards. He’ll be a significant upgrade from last year’s return men, which were Jacquizz Rodgers on kickoffs, and Robert McClain and Harry Douglas on punts.
