Earlier this week, New York Jets corner back Dee Milliner said he is the best corner back in the NFL. While it is hard to argue that Milliner is even in the top-5 right now, one of the Jets’ former coaches made a joke that some of the players the University of Cortland are better than Milliner.
“Dee Milliner is a guy that, it’s just taking him a little while,” Westhoff said. “I was not very impressed with his rookie year. He made the mistake—and sometimes I think it’s the way a guy phrases an answer to a question—about being the best cornerback in the league, and he said that he was. Man, I’m not sure he’s the best cornerback up here in Cortland. And I might include the university.”
Westhoff may no longer be employed by the team but he was still invited to roam the sidelines as the Jets opened training camp at the University of Cortland this week and was still open enough to crack a joke about one of the team’s more outspoken players.
While Milliner may have been a bit over-zealous on his proclamation of being the best corner in the league, one way he can shut up the haters is by performing well on-the-field.
Although, maybe if he makes a few more comments off-the-field, Richard Sherman can take a few shots at him on social media.
